#5 Union Malleable Iron Company located
next to #6 Moline wagon Company this
small structure manufactures a very small number 5-10 wagons per
year. The company was started by a previous employee of Deere &
Company, a Mr. James First. His company flounders for several years
until Deere & Company purchases the business. #7 Williams,
White & Company still located on this sight today a great place
to use as a reference when exploring Moline "Factory row".
Williams & White supplies large press's to the auto manufacturing
industry also they make high precision parts. The vacant land
at
#15 is the location where the Velie plant is to be built a small
wall portion still stands today. This is also where the Seeding
division is now located. |
