Dept glass negative.
This original glass plate negative (shown in reverse here) was once
the property of the publicity department of Deere & company,
was found in the drawers of a file cabinet that was sold at an East
Moline Il. auction. The Kraft paper sleave states Neg. No. 17171-b.
Dated 6-21-17 displays a world war 1 center articulated wagon. There
were many manufactures of wooden wagons in this time period, Deere
& Co. purchased Moline Wagon Co. and later the Ft. Smith Wagon
Co. Originally this Silver Nitrate coated Glass was produced by
the photographer in a dark room before celluloid based negatives
were available. This plate measures 14"x11".
